When emergency responders are called out to a scene, every second matters. As of today, the Fire Department of Húsavík has moved to a new fire station and will welcome guests to the new facilities tomorrow, Saturday February 8. The new fire station, located at the harbor, replaces the previous fire station at Höfði and is better equipped and provides better access for fire engines. With the building of PCC‘s silicon metal production plant and more hotels in the area, there was a need to straighten the fire department, and the new building is a part of that effort.
