Over 100 teachers from schools in Húsavík and surrounding areas attended a seminar on the Cristal project in Húsavík today, organized by the Icelandic Innovation Center and the Húsavík Academic Center. The Cristal project stands for Creative Regions for Innovation, Skills, Technology, Accessibility and Learning. It represents a new and exciting approach towards STEM and learning-by-making methods, digital fabrication, innovation and entrepreneurship. The aim of Cristal is to develop a open sourc virtual classroom and educational resources for preschool, primary, secondary, upper secondary and adult education.
The Húsavík Academic Center offers academic, vocational and recreational courses and study programmes to people in the community in collaboration with universities, municipalities, labor organizations and the local business community in Húsavík.
